The experience

When Biking Meets Hiking

The 14-Day Hybrid Crossing GR20 X GT20 is a new adventure that connects Corsica's most beautiful cycleable roads to its most emblematic hiking trails. From Bastia to Conca, you cross Corsica from north to south in 8 days of biking and 6 days of hiking. Two birds with one stone: explore two mythical routes listed as UNESCO World Heritage.

Not a big cyclist?

No problem! Our biking stages are offered with a premium electric bike (e-bike) that will allow you to do all the climbs effortlessly and leave you to marvel at the landscape.

Enjoy completely organized logistics to ensure continuity between the two practices:

  • Roadbooks and GPS tools designed by field professionals.
  • Bike delivery on site when you need them.
  • Transfer management and partial luggage handling depending on the trip.

The 14 stages, day by day

  1. Alt à définir
Discovery of the east coast of Cape Corse shaped as a corniche at sea level and running along pretty little marinas.
  2. Alt à définir
On the western side, the sheer coast dominates the shoreline spectacularly. Superb panoramas over the Cape and the Gulf of Saint-Florent.
  3. Alt à définir
The stage begins with the crossing of the Desert of the Agriates then the promontory villages of Upper Balagne offer us breathtaking panoramic views over the bays of Calvi and Île Rousse.
  4. Alt à définir
Discovery of the magnificent villages of Balagne by an itinerary of secondary roads. Many craftspeople are to be discovered.
  5. Alt à définir
Ascent of the Marsolinu Pass with a magnificent view over the Calvais region. Galeria is isolated by the sea, this village is a haven of peace far from summer clamor.
  6. Alt à définir
The road takes us to the rich western coast of Corsica. At the Palmarella Pass awaits one of the most beautiful panoramas of our trip.
  7. Alt à définir
Ascent of the Vergio Pass with the magnificent Spelunca gorges! Discovery of the Niolu region with Monte Cintu and Paglia Orba on the horizon.
  8. Alt à définir
The Scala di Santa Regina gorge! Sublime! The road is beautiful throughout until Corte, the historical capital of Corsica. Day of transition GT20 - GR20 - bike return and hiking bag delivery - night in Corte.
  9. Alt à définir
Start in Corte with a planned train transfer to Vizzavona - beginning of your GR South. You follow an old mule path leading to the Palmente pass (1640 m). The eastern coast unfolds at your feet offering a splendid panorama over Diana and Urbinu lagoons.
  10. Alt à définir
Continuation on the red and white trail for a stage in the forest. Through the Marmano beech forest you reach the Verde pass. The trail climbs through the woods initially using an old forest exploitation track.
  11. Alt à définir
You continue your progression south on an airy ridge route between the Taravu valley and the eastern plain. On the route passage of Punta Cappella 2041 m. Quite airy passage on the ridge crest crossing fairly steep rocky slopes (but requiring no special equipment).
  12. Alt à définir
You reach the ridge of statues and hike along the ridge, between granite blocks twisted by the wind, with the Tyrrhenian Sea as backdrop. Descent via a variant between the hills where the Bassetta inn is found.
  13. Alt à définir
You cross the Cuscionu Plateau, the highest altitude plateau in the Regional Natural Park. The day continues with a long descent towards Asinao. By a steep itinerary, you take the alpine variant and travel to cross the famous Bavella Needles. The granite forms twisted by erosion are spectacular.
  14. Alt à définir
This is a gentle downhill finish you have in store today; be careful, this last stage is not to be underestimated, the descent is long, without water points and coastal heat can surprise you. You progressively cross vegetation layers before arriving at Bocca d'Usciolu which marks the final descent to the village of Conca, endpoint of your adventure.
